Eagles 'shut down' trade inquiries for AJ Brown
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is causing fans to panic.

Brown recently changed his Twitter/X profile picture to Tom Brady and the internet went crazy thinking he had an interest in joining the New England Patriots.

But that wasn't the case as Brown responded to fans in a post to clarify that it meant nothing and that he simply is a Brady fan:

"TB12 is my favorite player ever. I watch(ed) the dynasty and it brought back some memories from my childhood. Go look up what he did in 2015 when he was doubted/ disrespected. Yeah I see the disrespect. Motivated … yes. That’s it. I Did not think changing my pfp (profile picture) to the greatest QB ever would cause controversy."

And then he deleted the post, which caused even more speculation.

However, Sports Illustrated's NFL insider Albert Breer saved the day and got to the bottom of the rumors, revealing that Brown isn't going anywhere.

"I did have to run this up the flag pole with a few different people," Breer said on NBC Sports Boston. "Philadelphia has gotten inquiries on A.J. Brown and they have shut them all down and have told other teams that he is not available."

While Brown showed obvious frustration in 2023 following the Eagles' devasting collapse, they would be crazy to let him go.

As Jalen Hurts' top target, Brown hauled in a career-high 106 receptions for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns through 17 games last fall.

The Eagles are not messing around in 2024 after they shook up their coaching staff by hiring Kellen Moore as their new offensive coordinator and Vic Fangio as their defensive coordinator. They also paid big money to sign running back Saquon Barkley and beefed up their defense in NFL free agency.

Brown may love to stir things up on social media, but he isn't leaving Philly's "win now" offense.
